How to take it?
Take this medication as the way your doctor prescribes it. The dose and the duration will be determined by after considering your overall medical history, age and present condition. Usually patients who are diagnosed with breast cancer are given Armotraz 1 mg (Anastrozole) orally once a day.
Armotraz 1 mg (Anastrozole) can be taken with or without meals with a full glass of water. Always try to take it at the same time every day.
If you missed a dose take Armotraz as soon as you remember. If it is too close to your next dose then skip the missed dose and take the regular dose. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed dose.
Side effects of Armotraz 1 mg (Anastrozole)
As with all medications some people experience certain side effects. Inform your doctor immediately if your reactions persists or worsen.
- Weight gain
- Joint pain
- Stomach pain
- Nausea
- Sore throat
- Cough
- Hair loss
- Loss of appetite
- Mood changes
If you experience any of the following side effects inform your doctor immediately.
- Vaginal bleeding
- Shortness of breath
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Blurred vision
- Hot flushes
- Chest pain
Storage
Store at a temperature 15°C - 30°C, away from direct sunlight. Keep all medicine out of reach of children.
Discard any medicine which has expired.
Keep the blisters in outer pack until required to use.
Interactions
Consumption of alcohol is not recommended.
It is unsafe to use Armotraz 1 mg (Anastrozole) on pregnant patients as it may cause harm to the fetus. Discuss with your doctor the risks and benefits involved prior to starting your treatment.
It is not recommended to breastfeed while you are on Armotraz 1 mg (Anastrozole) tablets as it may be toxic to the baby. Discuss with your doctor the risks and benefits involved prior to starting your treatment.
Armotraz 1 mg (Anastrozole) may cause you to feel dizzy, sleepy or decrease alertness so patients are advised not to drive or operate machinery unless you feel very well.
Precaution
Inform your doctor if youare allergic to Armotraz 1 mg (Anastrozole) to any of its active ingredients, any other medications that you are taking, if you have liver disorders, kidney disorders or any other medical condition.Armotraz may affect patients with kidney or liver disorders so adjustments to the dosage may be required.
Armotraz 1 mg (Anastrozole) is prescribed for postmenopausal women. Inform your doctor if you are premenopausal.
If you taking medication with estrogen inform your doctor.
Women with osteoporosis needs to have their bone density asses formally prior to the treatment of Armotraz.
