How to use Gempower 1000 mg ?

Gempower 1000 mg Injection should be only administered by a healthcare professional who is familiar with chemotherapy medicines to treat cancer. Usually it is given over 30 minutes once a week or as directed by your doctor.
Doctor's supervision in a hospital or in a place where sterile equipment are available for preparation is preferred.  Do not self-administer Gempower 1000 mg Injection.

In the event Gempower 1000 mg Injection touches your skin wash it immediately with soap and rinse well.

Side Effects

As with all medications some people experience certain side effects. Inform your doctor immediately if you have any of the effects below

• loss of appetite
• hair loss
• low blood platelets
• breathlessness
• vomiting
• nausea
• allergic reaction
• anemia
• increased liver enzymes
• decreased white blood cell count
• skin rash
• protein in urine
• influenza like symptoms

Gempower 1000 mg Injection should not be used on pregnant women as it may cause fetal damage. Discuss with your doctor the risks and benefits involved prior to starting your treatment.

Gempower 1000 mg Injection is not recommended for nursing mothers as it may be passed on to the baby. Discuss with your doctor to make a decision either to continue the medication or to continue feeding.

Gempower 1000 mg Injection may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired or reduced alertness. If that happens don't drive or operate machinery.

Precautions

Inform your doctor immediately if you are allergic to Gempower 1000 mg injection or any of its substances prior to the treatment.

Inform your doctor the medication that you are taking (prescription and over the counter), herbal preparations, supplements and vitamins.

To reduce the risk of bleeding gums use soft bristle toothbrush.

While you are on Gempower 1000 mg Injection, do not take any immunizations or vaccinations at all without the approval of your doctor. Avoid contact anyone who has received them.

Inform your doctor your complete medical history, if you have had heart conditions (heart failure, irregular heart beat), bone marrow problems (leukopenia, anemia, thrombocytopenia), kidney problems, liver problems or radiation therapy.

Gempower 1000 mg Injection is not suitable for patients who are below 18 of years.

It's important to undergo heart / kidney / liver function tests and blood count tests prior to your treatment.

If you are on a controlled sodium diet you need to take precautions as Gempower 1000mg injection has some amount of sodium.

Counselling sessions are needed for women who are planning to get pregnant about the toxic effect of Gempower 1000 mg on babies. Two effective methods of contraception methods should be used while on this therapy and six months after that. Men too should not father a child while on Gempower 1000 mg Injection and six months after the treatment.
