How to use Myelostat 500 MG capsule?
Your doctor will prescribe the dosage and the duration of Myelostat 500 MG capsule, take it as per the instructions.
Take Myelostat 500 MG capsule with or without food with a full glass of water. Do not crush, break or chew the capsule.
Take Myelostat500mg at the same time everyday.
If you missed a dose take Myelostat 500 MG as soon as you remember. If it is too close to your next dose then skip the missed dose and take the regular dose. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed dose.
Those who aren't taking Myelostat 500 MG should not come to contact with it.
Remember to wash hands before and after you handle Myelostat 500 MG. Your doctor will advise you to use disposable gloves to handle the medicine and you will also learn how to dispose the disposable gloves.
Side Effects
As with all medications some people experience certain side effects. Inform your doctor immediately if you have any of the effects below
- loss of appetite
- fever
- headache
- short of breath
- nausea
- vomiting
- drowsiness
- bone marrow suppression
- low blood platelets
- diarrhea
If you have any of the below mentioned side effects seek medical advice immediately.
- confusion
- dizziness
- joint pain
- unusual bleeding
- tarry stools
- seizures
- sores in the mouth
Interactions
There are no evidence of alcohol interaction, it's best to consult your doctor for advice.
Myelostat 500 MG capsule should not be used on pregnant women as it may cause fetal damage. Discuss with your doctor the risks and benefits involved prior to starting your treatment.
Myelostat 500 MG capsule is not recommended for nursing mothers as it may be passed on to the baby. Discuss with your doctor to make a decision either to continue the medication or to continue feeding.
Myelostat 500 MG capsule may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired or reduced alertness. If that happens don't drive or operate machinery.
Precautions
Exercise caution when prescribing Myelostat 500 MG capsule to patients with liver / kidney disease. A dose adjustment may be required.
Inform your doctor immediately if you are allergic to Myelostat 500 MG capsule or any of its substances prior to the treatment.
Do not use Myelostat 500 MG if you have
- are on prescription for didanosine or stavudine
- have low platelet or white blood cell count low
- have anemia
- severe bone marrow depression
- HIV positive
