If you are not sure whether to skip the dose, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
Do not take a double dose to make up for the dose that you missed.
If you stop taking finasteride 1 mg tablets your hair loss is most likely to resume.
If you take too much finasteride 1 mg or taken an overdose finasteride 1 mg - Immediately talk your doctor. Do inform even if there are no signs of discomfort or poisoning.
Precautions before taking Finasteride 1 mg
Before taking Finasteride 1 mg tell your doctor if:
you have or have had any medical conditions
you have any allergies to any other medicines or any other substances, such as foods, preservatives or dyes.
you have an allergy to Finasteride 1 mg or any brand containing Finasteride
Do not take Finasteride 1 mg if:
the expiry date on the pack has passed.
If you take this medicine after the expiry date has passed, it may not work.
If you are not sure whether you should start taking Finasteride 1 mg, talk to your doctor.
Do not give Finasteride 1 mg to children or women.
Women who are pregnant or may be pregnant must not take Finasteride 1 mg, handle crushed or broken tablets or handle tablets with wet hands.
If the active ingredient in Finasteride 1 mg is absorbed after swallowing the tablet or through the skin by a woman who is pregnant with a male baby, it may cause the male baby to be born with abnormalities of the sex organs.
Whole tablets are coated to prevent contact with the active ingredient during normal handling, provided that the tablets haven't been crushed or broken.
If a pregnant woman swallows Finasteride 1 mg, handles crushed or broken tablets or handles tablets with wet hands, her doctor must be consulted immediately.
Finasteride 1 mg is for use by men only.
Side effects of finasteride 1 mg
Finasteride 1mg is usually well tolerated by most men and side effects are uncommon. Men taking finasteride are at increased risk for impotence, erectile dysfunction, decreased libido, and ejaculation disorder for the first year of treatment, but this risk disappears after 2-4 years of use, and side effects usually get better over time.
There are case reports of persistent diminished libido or erectile dysfunction after stopping the drug and the patient leaflet has been updated to reflect this. A review found some evidence that finasteride increased the risk of sexual dysfunction, but those people did not discontinue treatment because of these side effects.
WARNING/CAUTION: Even though it may be rare, some people may have very bad and sometimes deadly side effects when taking a drug. Tell your doctor or get medical help right away if you have any of the following signs or symptoms that may be related to a very bad side effect:
Signs of an allergic reaction, like rash; hives; itching; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin with or without fever; wheezing; tightness in the chest or throat; trouble breathing, swallowing, or talking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat.
A lump in the breast, breast pain or soreness, or nipple discharge.
Enlarged breasts.
Very bad dizziness or passing out.
Low mood (depression).
For males, testicle pain.
What are common side effects of Finasteride 1 mg Tablets?
Feeling dizzy, tired, or weak.
This medicine may cause a change in sex ability in men or lowered interest in sex. This could go on after you stop this medicine (finasteride 1 mg tablets). Talk with your doctor if these effects go on or bother you.

Drug Interactions of finasteride 1 mg
Tell your doctor if you are taking any other medicines, including medicines that you buy without a prescription from your pharmacy, supermarket or health food shop.
Tell your doctors that you take finasteride 1 mg tablets, this includes your doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and dentists.
Avoid driving and doing other tasks or actions that call for you to be alert until you see how finasteride 1 mg tablets affects you.
To lower the chance of feeling dizzy or passing out, rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down. Be careful going up and down stairs.
This medicine may affect certain lab tests. Tell all of your health care providers and lab workers that you take finasteride 1 mg tablets.
Do not donate blood while using finasteride 1 mg tablets and for 1 month after stopping.
Some doses of finasteride 1 mg may raise the chance of a type of prostate cancer.
Rarely, male breast cancer has happened with finasteride 1 mg tablets
This medicine may lower sperm counts in men. This may affect being able to father a child.
Pregnant women must not handle crushed or broken tablets.
Storage of finasteride 1 mg
Keep your tablets in the blister pack until it is time to take them.
If you take the tablets out of the blister pack they may not keep well.
Never put the tablets in another box or container, as they might get mixed up.
Keep finasteride 1 mg in a cool dry place where the temperature stays below 30°C. Do not store it or any other medicine in the bathroom or near a sink.
Do not leave it in the car or on window sills.
Heat and dampness can destroy some medicines.
Keep it where children cannot reach it.
A locked cupboard at least one-and-a-half metres above the ground is a good place to store medicines.
Medicines should not be disposed of via waste water or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. This will help to protect the environment.
