Gemifloxacin (famously known as Factive 320mg), belonging to the quinolone family, is an antibiotic which is prescribed to treat infections caused by bacteria in the respiratory tract. For sinus infections Gemifloxacin (Factive 320mg) isn't prescribed.

Gemifloxacin (Factive 320mg) doesn't work for viral infections (eg: flu, common cold). Treating these with broad spectrum antibiotics may lead to antibiotic resistance then treating more severe infections become much harder.
